How Journalists Make Hash (On Blogger Superiority Complex)

September 18, 2009

Take notes from Moscow News business reporter Ed Bentley, who recently tried his hand at covering ethnic violence in Russia.

If the lessons aren’t clear, take a look at David Brooks on anti-health care protests.  Then compare with Tenured Radical.

  1. I just hope nobody of color reading Bentley’s article gets hurt because they think it’s safe to go out on April 20th, which is actually Hitler’s birthday, and not the 21st, as he claimed. Sadly, another day to avoid that he didn’t mention was Unity Day on November 4th, the day of the Russian march.

Have you heard about Ivan Khutorskoi? http://chtodelat.wordpress.com/2009/11/17/antifa-and-leftist-activist-ivan-khutorskoi-murdered-in-moscow/

    In connection, this is interesting:

  2. Daut,

Thanks, as always, for the links and updates. I’ve been a little out of the news and blogs. Focused on teaching and writing, and only catching what makes it on the local radio news while I commute to work.

The details of Khutorskoi’s murder are horrifyingly familiar from previous attacks on others.
